Beschrijving

The AS5600 magnetic degree angle sensor encoder is a precision 12-bit sensor for measuring rotation angles. This module uses a magnetic field to determine the position of an axis up to 4096 steps per rotation. As a result, it offers high resolution without mechanical contact. This makes it ideal for applications where reliability and durability are important.

The sensor works with a voltage range of 3.3 to 5 volts. This makes it compatible with many microcontrollers, such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. You can easily read the angle value via I2C or PWM. Due to the contactless measurement, there is less wear and therefore a longer lifespan.

The module is compact and easy to mount. Simply place a small magnet on a rotating shaft above the sensor. In this way, it accurately detects the rotation angle between 0° and 360°. Thanks to its high precision and easy integration, the AS5600 is a popular choice for robotics, motor control and positioning systems.

Electrical parameters:

VCC : 3.3V

GND :Power Ground

Out : PWM /Analog voltage output

DIR : Rotational direction (ground=Value increases clockwise; thenVCC =Clockwise values are decreased)

SCL : IICThe communication clock line

SDA : IICData communication line

GPO : Mode selection (internal pull ground=Programming modeB)

The AS5600 is capable of 12-bits resolution which equates to 360/4096=0.087 degrees. This resolution assumes ideal magnet positioning and no distortion of the magnetic field. In practice I observed variations of up to 2 degrees which can be reduced using interpolation.
